No moment or memory is recollected in the same way. My photographs use the spaces between light and dark, movement, atmosphere, and texture to evoke souvenir and memento. Presence is conveyed through landscape, architecture, by objects that have been left behind and some figurative references, but absence is my muse. Sometimes I purposefully move the camera (or am myself in motion) when taking pictures; the unexpected results blur light and image spontaneously, and with this loss of clarity, time less easily discerned.
