WORKS PAPER & MIXED MEDIA
Working from and within a range of traditions, I have extended my drawing practice to include collage and mixed media.
By changing contexts, meaning can be re-assigned, forming new visual alliances thus exploring allegory and narrative.
I love paper and I use it in all its forms, high and low (including found and/or scraps), responding in large part to paper’s muscular physicality and its fragility. These works are a direct response to its materiality. Retaining an active touch is a vital component of my process. Edges are cut or torn and become an important part of the visual vocabulary.
My experimentation with paper serves as another pathway towards referencing time, through process.
