My studio has been located in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, a former longshoring and manufacturing neighborhood in New York City for over twenty years. I respond to the textures of the (now) abandoned industrial sites and the ever changing waterfront’s landscape. It is a terrible beauty: twisted metal framework, broken brick, wire and exposed skeletons of obsolete, site-specific architecture and present this post-industrial place as raw poetry.
